If last year was spent trying to make Raleigh feel like home, this year was about leaning in further. In many ways, I succeeded: I have a church and a community group and a Bible study and a book club and a run club and a regular coffee shop. I see the people I love frequently. And yet, Raleigh still does not feel like my city. I covered a lot of this in last year's recap and I still have no concrete plans to leave, but it is on the brain, again.

So much happened this year, as it does every year. I have a new nephew (the cutest baby in the world). I ran another half marathon. I spent a month and half in DC, in 1-2 week intervals throughout the year, and a week in Baltimore for work. I visited Copenhagen, New York City, Asheville, Wilmington, Boston, and Richmond. I petsat a lot. I attended more concerts than I ever have in one year: the Vaccines, the Kooks, Fall Out Boy, Hozier, Royel Otis, Alice Merton, Holly Humberstone, Fleet Foxes, Sylvan Esso, Shakey Graves, Two Door Cinema Club, Glass Animals, Childish Gambino, Idles, Sigur Ros, Fontaines DC, and Jungle (also the North Carolina Symphony a few times and Ben Schwartz's improv show). I've continued to stay off Instagram, for a year and a half and counting. A bunch of friends turned 30. I turned 30!!

Life continues to be beautiful and baffling. Here's to another year. Happy 2025!
