Mid-May 2022
After a few wildly busy weeks of work, a friend and I decided to book a tiny cabin in the woods for a couple days. We chose Getaway Asheboro, a collection of adorable tiny homes near the North Carolina Zoo, and spent the time doing almost nothing.
Day 1 //
Arrived mid-afternoon. Grabbed groceries at the closest store and made a fig & prosciutto & basil pizza (and s'mores, naturally) over the campfire.
Day 2 //
Hiked 7 miles through Uwharrie National Forest. Stopped for coffee at Brewskie's in downtown Asheboro. Spent the rest of the day in the cabin napping, reading books (The Essex Serpent for me, in preparation for the Apple+ TV show), and eating pulled pork nachos.
Day 3 //
Lazily packed up, then stopped for breakfast at The Table in Asheboro, which is well worth a visit. Then we said our goodbyes and went back our separate ways.
