From D.C. to D.C. again to NYC to... Staunton, Virginia.
My sister and I's fourth trip together took us out of overpopulated metropolises and into Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, a predominantly rural swath of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Staunton has everything you could want out of a small town -- cozy bakeries, haunted antique stores, creaky old buildings, small wineries, beautiful natural views, and of course, free parking. We came for the changing leaves (un-pictured but gorgeous) and the convenient distance away from home, and left relaxed with a few new memories tucked away.
