I recently took a week-long solo road trip up north, having bought tickets to two concerts in DC that were 6 days apart and needing to fill the days in between. My first stop was Providence, the charming and walkable capital of Rhode Island that's surrounded by horrendously designed highways. I'd never been before and instantly loved it. Unbeknownst to me, it was Brown's graduation weekend, and the area of the city around the school was flooded with seniors saying their final goodbyes to their friends and the campus, parents piling cars full of belongings, and dumpsters overflowing with abandoned home goods. Consequently, the city was full of young life, and I wandered through the streets briefly imagining an alternate life as a young student.
